A couple months have passed since Paramount’s last Sapphire Series Blu-ray Disc entry, Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan, arrived in stores. As it turns out, Paramount chose to put the high-end collection of Blu-ray releases on hiatus over the summer. It will return on September 21 with Sam Mendes’ directorial debut American Beauty starring Annette Bening, Thora Birch, Kevin Spacey, Wes Bentley, Chris Cooper and Mena Suvari.
I do not have all the details on American Beauty: Sapphire Series to share but I can confirm the disc (or discs) will include a commentary with Director Sam Mendes and Screenwriter Alan Ball; American Beauty Look Closer…; Storyboard Presentation with Sam Mendes and Director of Photography Conrad L. Hall; and a pair of theatrical trailers in high definition.
